Ingredients
  

For the Crust
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour Can substitute with gluten-free flour.
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup light brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup salted butter (melted) Unsalted can be used, add a pinch of salt.
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
For the Strawberry Filling
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries (chopped) Frozen strawberries can be used, thaw and drain.
For the Glaze
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup whipping cream (light or heavy)

Method
 

Steps
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Line an 8×8-inch square baking pan with parchment paper.
  3. Whisk together flour, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and salt. Stir in melted butter and vanilla until crumbly.
  4. Press two-thirds of the mixture into the bottom of the pan. Bake for 15–20 minutes until light golden brown.
  5. Prepare the strawberry filling by tossing strawberries with sugar and flour. Spoon evenly over warm crust.
  6. Sprinkle remaining crumb mixture over strawberries. Bake for another 30–35 minutes until bubbly and set.
  7. Allow the bars to cool completely in the pan.
  8. Whisk together powdered sugar, whipping cream, and vanilla until smooth. Drizzle over cooled bars.
  9. Lift out of the pan using parchment and slice into 12 squares.
