For the Glaze
  • 1/4 cup Honey Maple syrup can be used for a twist
  • 2 tablespoons Gochujang Korean chili paste
  • 3 cloves Garlic Minced; fresh preferred
  • 2 tablespoons Soy Sauce Use low-sodium for lighter taste
  • 1 tablespoon Citrus (Lemon/Lime) Freshly squeezed, optional but recommended

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Cut the chicken into bite-sized pieces and pat them dry with paper towels.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine honey, gochujang, minced garlic, soy sauce, and citrus juice, then whisk until smooth.
  3. Add the chicken pieces to the glaze and toss until fully coated.
  4. Allow the chicken to marinate for about 15 minutes at room temperature.
Cooking
  1. Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C) and arrange the marinated chicken in a single layer.
  2. Cook for about 15-20 minutes, turning them halfway through until golden brown and crispy.
  3. Alternatively, preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C), place chicken on a parchment-lined baking sheet, and bake for 25-30 minutes.
  4. Let the chicken rest for a few minutes after cooking, then garnish with sesame seeds or chopped green onions.
