Step-by-Step Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a 9x13-inch baking pan by greasing and lining it with parchment paper.
- Brown the butter by melting it in a saucepan over medium heat until golden brown and nutty, about 5–7 minutes.
- In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt; set aside.
- Mix cooled brown butter with brown sugar, then add eggs, vanilla extract, and orange zest until smooth.
- Fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, then gently add cranberries and white chocolate chips.
- Spread the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 18-22 minutes until edges are set and center jiggles slightly.
- Let the bars cool completely on a wire rack for 1-2 hours before frosting.
- Beat cream cheese, confectioners' sugar, vanilla extract, and orange juice until smooth, then frost the cooled bars.
- Sprinkle with chopped cranberries and drizzle with melted white chocolate if desired.
- Chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before slicing into bars.
