Preparation Steps
  1. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat, around 375°F.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine ground turkey, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, and red onion. Add olive oil and mix gently.
  3. Sprinkle in chili powder, ground cumin, garlic powder, paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper. Fold in spices evenly.
  4. Crack the egg into the mixture and blend until incorporated.
  5. Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape each into a patty, making a slight indentation in the center.
  6. Place the patties on the grill and cook for 5-6 minutes on each side, reaching an internal temperature of 165°F.
  7. Toast the whole wheat buns on the grill for 1-2 minutes until golden.
  8. Assemble the burgers by placing each patty on a bun and topping with salsa, avocado, and cilantro.
  9. Serve immediately with your choice of sides.
