Step-by-Step Instructions for Soft Baked Maple Donut Bars
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and prepare a 9x13 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- Melt ½ cup of unsalted butter in a microwave-safe bowl and allow it to cool slightly. In a large mixing bowl, combine 2 cups of all-purpose flour, 1 cup of granulated sugar, 2 teaspoons of baking powder, 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon, and ½ teaspoon of salt.
- In another bowl, mix the cooled melted butter, ¾ cup of milk, 2 large eggs, 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract, and ½ cup of pure maple syrup until fully combined.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and gently fold until just combined.
- Spread the thick batter evenly into the prepared baking pan. Bake for 22-25 minutes until lightly golden.
- Prepare the glaze by mixing 1 cup of powdered sugar, ¼ cup of pure maple syrup, 2 tablespoons of heavy cream, ½ teaspoon of vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt.
- Once cooled, spread the glaze over the bars, allow to set, and cut into squares.
