  • 1 tablespoon Fresh Ginger Minced; ground ginger is an alternative.
For the Vegetables
  • 2 tablespoons Sesame Oil Can substitute with vegetable or canola oil.
  • 1 cup Carrots Sliced.
  • 1 cup Zucchini Sliced.
  • 1 cup Mushrooms Sliced.
For the Rice
  • 3 cups Fried Rice Using leftover rice yields the best results.
For Flavor
  • 1/4 cup Soy Sauce Low-sodium soy sauce can be used.

Equipment

  • Skillet
  • Mixing Bowl

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine mirin, minced garlic, fresh ginger, and sesame oil to create a marinade. Add the sirloin steak and let it marinate for at least 30 minutes.
  2. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat, drizzle with sesame oil, and stir-fry the mixed vegetables for about 4-5 minutes until tender.
  3. In the same skillet, add the marinated steak and cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side until browned.
  4. Remove the steak and let it rest. Add the fried rice to the skillet with the vegetables and stir everything together over medium heat for 2-3 minutes.
  5. Slice the rested steak against the grain, assemble the bowls with rice, veggies, and steak, and garnish as desired.

Notes

For best results, slice the steak against the grain and avoid overcrowding the pan during cooking for a proper sear. Use leftover fried rice for better texture.
