  • 1 teaspoon salt Amplifies all flavors.
For the Protein Boost
  • 1 cup cottage cheese Use low-fat or full-fat as you prefer.
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese Substitute with any cheese you love for different flavors.
  • 2 large eggs Helps bind everything together; try flax eggs as a vegan alternative.
  • 1 cup ham Adds savory protein; chopped cooked chicken or tofu can be substitutes.
  • 2 tablespoons chives Offers fresh flavor; green onions or leeks can be excellent alternatives.

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper lightly dusted with flour.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, onion powder, garlic powder, baking powder, and salt. Whisk until well mixed.
  3. In a separate bowl, combine cottage cheese, cheddar cheese, eggs, diced ham, and chives. Stir until well incorporated.
  4. Gently pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and fold using a spatula until a soft dough forms.
  5. If the dough is too sticky, dust your hands with flour and knead gently until it holds together.
  6. On a floured surface, flatten the dough into a rectangular shape about ¾-inch thick.
  7. Cut the flattened dough into 12 equal-sized biscuits and space them on the baking sheet.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 22-25 minutes until golden brown on top.
  9. Allow biscuits to cool for a few minutes before serving, either plain or as breakfast sandwiches.
