  • 1 cup Pizza Sauce Your favorite or homemade
  • 1/4 cup Fresh Basil Leaves For garnish
  • 1 tbsp Olive Oil For brushing the dough
  • 1 tsp Red Pepper Flakes Optional, adjust to taste

Method
 

Baking Steps
  1. Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C) and place a pizza stone inside if using.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the Italian sausage for 5-7 minutes until golden and no longer pink.
  3. On a floured surface, roll out your pizza dough into a 12-14 inch circle.
  4. Brush olive oil over the dough surface and spread pizza sauce evenly.
  5. Sprinkle half the mozzarella, then add the cooked sausage, dollops of ricotta, and remaining mozzarella.
  6. Bake the pizza for 12-15 minutes until crust is golden-brown and cheese is bubbling.
  7. Remove from the oven, drizzle hot honey on top, and garnish with fresh basil leaves.
  8. Allow to cool for 2-3 minutes before slicing and serving.
