Baking Steps
- Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C) and place a pizza stone inside if using.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the Italian sausage for 5-7 minutes until golden and no longer pink.
- On a floured surface, roll out your pizza dough into a 12-14 inch circle.
- Brush olive oil over the dough surface and spread pizza sauce evenly.
- Sprinkle half the mozzarella, then add the cooked sausage, dollops of ricotta, and remaining mozzarella.
- Bake the pizza for 12-15 minutes until crust is golden-brown and cheese is bubbling.
- Remove from the oven, drizzle hot honey on top, and garnish with fresh basil leaves.
- Allow to cool for 2-3 minutes before slicing and serving.
