Step-by-Step Instructions for Burger Bowls
  1. Rinse 1 cup of brown rice under cold water until clear. In a saucepan, combine rice with 2 cups of water and a pinch of salt. Bring to a boil, then simmer covered for about 30 minutes.
  2. Heat skillet over medium heat, add 1 pound of ground beef, season, and cook for about 8 minutes until well-browned. Drain excess fat.
  3. Wash and slice cherry tomatoes, and shred 1 cup of lettuce. Slice pickles as desired.
  4. In a bowl or plate, layer brown rice, seasoned beef, shredded lettuce, cherry tomatoes, and pickles. Top with shredded cheddar cheese.
