Ingredients
  

Filling
  • 1 pack Breakfast pork and sage sausage
  • 1 cup Freshly grated sharp cheddar cheese omit for dairy-free
  • 1/2 cup Panko breadcrumbs
  • 2 large Eggs One for binding, one for egg wash
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh thyme leaves or dried thyme as substitute
Pastry
  • 1 pack Puff pastry 17.3 oz, thawed
  • 1 tablespoon Everything but the Bagel seasoning or sesame/poppy seeds as alternatives
Drizzle
  • 1/4 cup Nature Nate's Hot Honey

Method
 

Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the sausage, cheddar, breadcrumbs, one egg, and thyme.
  3. Whisk the remaining egg with a splash of water to create the egg wash.
  4. Roll out the puff pastry to about 1/8-inch thick and cut into rectangular strips.
  5. Shape the sausage mixture into logs and place in the center of pastry strips.
  6. Brush Dijon mustard along the edges of each pastry strip, fold, and seal with egg wash.
  7. Cut the sealed pastry into 1.5-inch rolls and place on the baking sheet.
  8. Brush tops with egg wash and sprinkle with Everything but the Bagel seasoning.
  9. Bake for 18 to 20 minutes until golden brown and puffed.
  10. Remove from the oven, drizzle with hot honey, and garnish with fresh thyme.
