Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Prepare Pan: Line an 8-inch or 9-inch square baking dish with parchment paper.
  2. Melt Butter and Sugar: In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine butter and brown sugar. Stir constantly for about 3-4 minutes until smooth.
  3. Combine Ingredients: Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract and rolled oats. Mix thoroughly, return to low heat for another 3-4 minutes.
  4. Layer Oat Mixture: Press half of the oat mixture into the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
  5. Make Filling: Melt chocolate chips and peanut butter together in a microwave-safe bowl, then pour over the oat layer.
  6. Add Remaining Oats: Crumble the remaining oat mixture over the filling, then drizzle with reserved chocolate mixture.
