  • 8 oz Mushrooms crimini or button mushrooms
  • 2 cloves Garlic minced
  • 1 cup Beef Broth or chicken broth
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire Sauce
  • 2 tbsp Soy Sauce adjust for lower sodium option
  • 1 tbsp Dijon Mustard
  • 2 cups Swiss Cheese shredded, can substitute with cheddar or mozzarella
  • 1 cup Sour Cream or Greek yogurt
  • 4 slices Hamburger Buns cubed
  • 1 tbsp Olive Oil for sautéing
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Pepper
  • 1 tbsp Fresh Parsley optional garnish

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Add the ground beef (or your chosen protein) and cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until browned.
  3. Add chopped onion and sliced mushrooms to the skillet, cooking for about 5-7 minutes until softened. Stir in minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.
  4. Return the browned meat to the skillet and stir in Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, Dijon mustard, and beef broth. Simmer for 5 minutes.
  5. Prepare a casserole dish by cubing hamburger buns and layering them at the bottom. Spread the beef and vegetable mixture over the bread.
  6. Sprinkle shredded Swiss cheese evenly over the top of the casserole.
  7. Carefully place your casserole in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes until the cheese is melted and golden brown.
  8. Remove the casserole from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes. Sprinkle fresh parsley on top before serving.
