For the Salmon
  • 6 oz salmon fillets opt for high-quality, wild-caught salmon.

Method
 

Preparation Steps
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine 6 tablespoons of softened unsalted butter with 3 tablespoons of white miso paste, 1 tablespoon of brown sugar, 2 teaspoons of grated fresh ginger, and 1-2 cloves of minced garlic. Blend until smooth and creamy.
  2. Place salmon fillets skin-side down on a lightly greased baking dish or air fryer basket. Spread the prepared miso butter over each fillet.
  3. For oven baking, preheat to 375°F (190°C). Bake the salmon for 12–15 minutes until opaque and flakes easily. Broil for an additional 1–2 minutes.
  4. For air frying, preheat to 400°F (200°C). Cook salmon for 9–10 minutes until cooked through and crispy.
  5. Remove salmon from the oven or air fryer, drizzle with remaining miso butter, and garnish with green onions. Serve with steamed rice and vegetables.

Notes

Allow salmon to sit at room temperature for 15 minutes before cooking for even cooking. Store leftover miso butter for up to 5 days. Reheat leftovers in an oven at 300°F for about 10 minutes.
