  • 1 pound Ground Beef can be swapped with ground turkey
  • 1 tablespoon Olive Oil or avocado oil
  • 1 Onion (chopped) yellow or white
  • 2 cloves Garlic (minced) fresh is best
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin substitute with coriander if needed
  • 1 teaspoon Paprika choose sweet or smoked
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Black Pepper
For the Pockets
  • 4 Pita Pockets or flatbreads
  • 2 cups Lettuce (shredded) or spinach/kale
  • 1 cup Tomatoes (diced) any fresh variety
  • 1 cup Cucumbers (diced) pickled cucumbers optional
  • 1/2 cup Feta Cheese (crumbled) or goat cheese
For the Tzatziki Sauce
  • 1 cup Tzatziki Sauce store-bought or homemade

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Heat 1 teaspoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add onions and garlic, sauté for 3-4 minutes until translucent.
  2. Add ground beef, breaking it apart with a spatula. Mix in cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper. Cook for 5-7 minutes until the beef is browned.
  3. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Warm pita pockets for about 5 minutes in the oven or 30 seconds in the microwave.
  4. Open each pita pocket and spoon in the beef mixture, then layer with lettuce, tomatoes, and cucumbers.
  5. Drizzle with tzatziki sauce and add feta cheese. Plate your pita pockets and enjoy!
