Ingredients

  • 8 ounces Cream Cheese can substitute with dairy-free cream cheese for a vegan option
  • 1/2 cup Red Pepper Spread or pesto for variation
  • 1/2 cup Pepperoncini/Banana Peppers chopped olives can replace them
  • 1 tablespoon Dried Italian Seasoning fresh herbs can be used
For the Seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon Coarse Kosher Salt adjust according to taste
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder fresh minced garlic is a great substitute
  • 1 teaspoon Onion Powder shallots can be used
  • 1/2 teaspoon Ground Black Pepper adjust to preference
For the Cheesy Layer
  • 4 slices Provolone Cheese or mozzarella for variation
  • 4 slices Salami/Soppressata or roasted vegetables for vegetarian option
For the Base
  • 3 pieces Flour Tortillas (10 or 12 inch) gluten-free tortillas can be used

Method
 

Preparation Steps
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese with red pepper spread, chopped pepperoncini, dried Italian seasoning, coarse kosher salt, garlic powder, onion powder, and ground black pepper. Mix with a spatula until smooth.
  2. Take a flour tortilla and lay it flat, spreading a generous layer of the cream cheese mixture evenly over it.
  3. At one end of the tortilla, place slices of provolone cheese and salami or soppressata, ensuring they are positioned close enough to roll tightly.
  4. Starting from the end with the cheese and meat, carefully roll the tortilla tightly away from you, then wrap in plastic wrap.
  5. Place the wrapped pinwheels in the refrigerator to chill for at least one hour.
  6. After chilling, unwrap the pinwheels and cut each roll into 1-inch pieces for serving.
