Preparation Steps
- In a small bowl, combine the active dry yeast with half of the warm water and let it sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
- In a larger mixing bowl, whisk together the softened butter, granulated sugar, kosher salt, and the remaining warm water.
- Once the yeast is activated, add the egg yolk to the butter mixture, stirring to combine.
- Gently fold in the foamy yeast mixture, then gradually add the all-purpose flour, mixing until just combined.
- Spread the prepared dough evenly into a greased 9x13 baking dish and cover loosely with plastic wrap. Let it rest for 15 minutes.
- Preheat your oven to 350°F.
- After resting, brush the surface of the dough with melted butter and sprinkle with Parmesan, mozzarella, oregano, and garlic salt.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 28-31 minutes until bubbly and golden brown.
- Allow to cool for about 10 minutes, then slice into 8 equal pieces and serve with marinara sauce.
