For Sweetening
  • 2 tablespoons Honey or agave syrup

  • to taste Ice

Equipment

  • Pan
  • Blender
  • fine mesh strainer
  • glasses

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Start by boiling 1 cup of water in a small saucepan over medium-high heat. Once boiling, remove the pan from heat and add 2 black tea bags. Let them steep for about 3 minutes until the tea becomes rich and aromatic, then remove the tea bags. Stir in 2 tablespoons of honey until fully dissolved, and allow the tea to cool to room temperature.
  2. While the tea cools, take a ripe mango and peel it. Cut the mango into pieces, discarding the pit. Place the mango pieces in a blender, adding the remaining 0.5 cups of water. Blend on high speed for about 30 seconds until you achieve a smooth puree.
  3. Place a fine mesh strainer over a bowl. Pour the blended mango puree through the strainer, using a spatula to press down the pulp. Discard the remaining pulp and set the strained nectar aside.
  4. Grab tall glasses and fill each one with ice to the brim. Pour the cooled black tea over the ice, filling the glass until it's about two-thirds full. Then, gently top off each glass with the mango nectar, allowing it to float on top.
  5. For an extra touch of freshness, slice a few additional pieces of mango to garnish on the rim of each glass. Serve your homemade mango iced tea immediately.

Notes

For best results, brew your tea in advance and chill it for quicker assembly when serving. Creative ice cubes can be made by freezing extra mango nectar or tea for vibrant, flavorful ice.
