  • 2 tablespoons Olive Oil Avocado oil can also work.
  • 2 tablespoons Red Wine Vinegar Substitute with apple cider vinegar if needed.
  • 1 teaspoon Oregano Use fresh for best flavor.
  • 1/2 teaspoon Allspice Can omit if desired.
  • 1 teaspoon Lemon Pepper Substitute with cracked pepper and lemon zest.
For the Tzatziki Sauce
  • 1 cup Greek Yogurt Use non-fat for a lighter version.
  • 1 small Grated Cucumber Squeeze out excess moisture.
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh Parsley or Dill Dried herbs can be used if fresh isn't available.
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt Adjust according to taste.

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Prepare the Slow Cooker: Spray the slow cooker with non-stick spray. Place chicken breasts inside.
  2. Mix the Marinade: In a bowl, combine garlic, lemon juice, onion, water, olive oil, vinegar, oregano, allspice, and lemon pepper. Stir well.
  3. Pour and Cook: Pour marinade over chicken. Cook on HIGH for 3-4 hours or LOW for 6-8 hours.
  4. Prepare the Tzatziki Sauce: Combine Greek yogurt, garlic, grated cucumber, parsley, and salt in a separate bowl and refrigerate for an hour.
  5. Shred the Chicken: Once cooked, shred the chicken with two forks in the slow cooker, mixing with juices.
  6. Assemble Your Gyros: Serve shredded chicken in warm pitas, topped with tomatoes, onions, cucumbers, lettuce, and tzatziki sauce.
