Method

Preparation Steps
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Gather a large mixing bowl and your ingredients for the meatballs.
  2. In your large bowl, crumble the ground beef and add in the eggs, finely chopped onion, soft bread crumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, minced garlic, Italian seasoning, and a pinch of salt. Combine these ingredients gently but thoroughly.
  3. Shape the meat mixture into balls about 2 inches in diameter, placing them on a greased rack in shallow baking pans.
  4. Bake the meatballs for approximately 20 minutes or until they are browned and cooked through, reaching an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
  5. Once browned, transfer the meatballs into a 13x9-inch baking dish and cover generously with marinara sauce.
  6. Sprinkle a layer of shredded mozzarella cheese over the meatballs and return to the oven for an additional 15 to 20 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  7. Broil for 2-3 minutes for a final touch to achieve a golden color and blistered spots on the cheese.
  8. Let it rest for a few minutes before garnishing with freshly minced parsley and serve warm.

For the best results, use fresh mozzarella for a good melt and allow the dish to rest to help flavors meld.
