- Heat a splash of olive oil in a large pot over medium heat, then brown the seasoned beef chunks for 5-7 minutes on all sides.
- Add more olive oil if needed, then cook sliced onions and minced garlic on low heat for about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Return the beef to the pot, add white wine, and water to cover. Simmer for about 2 hours until beef is tender.
- Boil salted water in another pot, cook ziti pasta until al dente (10-12 minutes), then drain.
- Mix the cooked ziti with the sauce and beef, toss over low heat for 2-3 minutes, and serve hot with Parmesan and basil.
