Preparation Steps
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8 or 9-inch springform pan.
- In a mixing bowl, combine fresh cranberries, chopped walnuts, and ½ cup of sugar, tossing gently to coat.
- Spread the cranberry and walnut mixture evenly into the bottom of your prepared springform pan.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together melted butter, remaining sugar, and eggs until smooth. Gradually stir in flour until just combined.
- Dollop the thick batter over the cranberry layer, spreading it evenly to cover the fruit.
- Bake the pie for 30-35 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Allow the pie to cool in the pan for about 15 minutes, then gently release the springform ring.
- Invert the pie onto a serving plate and enjoy warm or at room temperature, ideally with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.
