Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Begin by softening your cream cheese in a medium-sized mixing bowl. Using an electric mixer, beat the cream cheese with powdered sugar and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy, taking about 2-3 minutes. Fold in strawberry jam or diced fresh strawberries.
  2. Take a wonton wrapper and place about 1 teaspoon of your creamy filling in the center. Moisten the edges with a little water, fold in half to form a triangle, and pinch edges tightly.
  3. In a deep skillet or pot, heat enough vegetable oil (2-3 inches deep) over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C) for frying.
  4. Carefully add the assembled wontons in small batches to the hot oil, frying for about 1-2 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy. Use a slotted spoon to turn them halfway.
