  • 8 ounces Fresh Mozzarella cut into rounds
  • 1/2 cup Flour all-purpose, for breading
  • 1 large Egg for binding
  • 1 cup Milk can substitute with plant-based milk
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 1 cup Panko Breadcrumbs for coating
  • 1/2 cup Olive Oil for frying
For the Marinara Sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Olive Oil
  • 2 cloves Garlic minced
  • 1 cup Tomato Puree
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Onion Powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon Red Pepper Flakes

Method
 

Preparation Steps
  1. Prepare the Breading: Set up three shallow dishes with flour mixed with garlic powder, egg whisked with milk, and panko breadcrumbs, respectively.
  2. Bread the Mozzarella: Coat mozzarella in flour, then dip in egg wash, and finally roll in panko breadcrumbs.
  3. Freeze the Mozzarella: Place breaded mozzarella on a baking sheet and freeze for at least 60 minutes.
  4. Make the Marinara Sauce: Sauté minced garlic in olive oil, add tomato puree and seasonings, and simmer for 15 minutes.
  5. Cook the Mozzarella: Preheat the griddle, fry frozen mozzarella for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown.
  6. Serve: Transfer fried mozzarella to a platter and serve with warm marinara sauce.
