Ingredients

For the Pasta
  • 12 ounces Ziti Feel free to use whole-wheat or gluten-free ziti if you prefer.
For the Sauce
  • 2 cups Alfredo Sauce You can make your own for a healthier twist or choose a low-fat version.
For the Cheese
  • 1 cup Mozzarella Cheese Swap for dairy-free mozzarella if you’re looking for a vegan option.
  • 1 cup Cheddar Cheese Consider mixing with your favorite cheese blend for varied tastes.
For Flavor
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder Using fresh garlic can provide a more robust taste.
  • 1 teaspoon Italian Seasoning Fresh herbs can be a vibrant substitute if you have them on hand.
For the Protein
  • 1 pound Smoked Beef For a lighter option, use extra-lean ground beef or sautéed mushrooms for a vegetarian delight.

Equipment

  • Large Pot
  • Skillet
  • Mixing Bowl
  • 9x13 inch baking dish

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large pot, bring salted water to a rolling boil and add the ziti. Cook the pasta according to the package instructions until al dente, about 8–10 minutes. Drain and set aside.
  3. While the ziti cooks, heat a skillet over medium heat and add the smoked beef. Sauté for 5–7 minutes until browned. Drain excess liquid.
  4. Reduce the heat to low and add the Alfredo sauce, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning to the beef. Stir for about 2 minutes until heated and well-blended.
  5. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked ziti with the beef and Alfredo mixture. Toss gently to coat the pasta evenly.
  6. Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish and transfer the pasta and beef mixture into it, spreading evenly.
  7. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella and cheddar cheese over the top of the casserole, ensuring it’s covered thoroughly.
  8. Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake for 25–30 minutes, until the cheese is bubbling and golden brown.
  9. Let the casserole rest for about 5 minutes before serving.
