Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9x13-inch baking dish with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened unsalted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy for about 3-5 minutes.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt. Gradually add this dry mixture to the butter mixture until just incorporated.
  4. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. In a small bowl, mix the additional brown sugar and cinnamon for the cinnamon swirl.
  6. Spread half of the batter in the prepared baking dish and sprinkle the cinnamon swirl mixture over it. Dollop the remaining batter on top and swirl gently.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes until the edges are golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Prepare the frosting by mixing powdered sugar, butter, vanilla, and milk until smooth. Adjust consistency as needed.
  9. Once cooled, frost the bars evenly, slice into squares, and enjoy.
