Preparation Steps
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch round baking pan with butter or non-stick spray.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine softened butter, granulated sugar, and dark brown sugar. Beat on medium speed for 2 to 3 minutes until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Pour in the vanilla extract and mix until fully incorporated.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together all-purpose flour, baking soda, ground cinnamon, and salt. Gradually add this mix to the wet ingredients, mixing on low speed just until combined.
- Gently fold in chopped apples and walnuts with a spatula.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly. Bake for 40 to 45 minutes until golden and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Remove from oven and cool in the pan for about 10 to 15 minutes.
- Carefully invert onto a wire rack to cool completely, then slice and serve.
