Equipment

  • Pot
  • Medium saucepan
  • Mixing Bowl

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Fill a pot with water and bring it to a boil over medium-high heat. Carefully add the eggs and cook for 9–12 minutes for hard-boiled perfection. Transfer the eggs to an ice bath for at least 5 minutes.
  2. In a medium saucepan, melt 1/4 cup of unsalted butter over medium heat until it starts to foam and sizzle, about 2–3 minutes.
  3. Add 1/2 cup of sliced onions to the melted butter, stirring occasionally. Cook for 3-4 minutes until the onions are soft.
  4. Stir in 1 tablespoon of minced garlic and 1 teaspoon of garlic paste. Sprinkle in the Old Bay seasoning, cayenne pepper, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and red pepper flakes. Cook for an additional minute.
  5. Pour in 1/2 cup of vegetable broth to the saucepan and bring to a gentle simmer. Allow it to cook for about 5 minutes.
  6. Once the sauce has thickened slightly, remove it from heat. In a mixing bowl, place your peeled Cajun boiled eggs and pour the hot spicy garlic butter sauce over them.
  7. Serve your Cajun boiled eggs warm or chilled. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley or extra red pepper flakes before serving.

Notes

For best results, use older eggs for easier peeling, and store both eggs and sauce separately if preparing in advance.
