Pasta Preparation
- Begin by bringing a large pot of salted water to a rolling boil over high heat. Add 8 ounces of short pasta and cook for 8-10 minutes until al dente, stirring occasionally. Once the pasta is cooked, drain it in a colander and rinse under cold water to stop the cooking process and cool it down quickly.
Combine Ingredients
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooled pasta with 1 cup of halved cherry tomatoes, 1 cup of diced cucumber, ½ cup of finely chopped red onion, and 1 cup of diced bell pepper. Toss everything together gently but thoroughly.
Prepare Dressing
- In a small bowl, whisk together ½ cup of Italian dressing, 1 teaspoon of garlic powder, and a pinch of salt and pepper.
Dress Salad
- Pour the prepared dressing over the pasta mixture in the large bowl. Using a spatula, gently toss the ingredients together until every piece is coated with that delicious dressing.
Chill
- Cover the salad bowl and place it in the refrigerator. Allow the salad to chill for at least 30 minutes.
